She has contributed to all facets of life in her rural community in Nova Scotia, working as a volunteer for organizations for women, young people and seniors. As chairperson of the Farm Debt Review Board, president of the Federated Women's Institutes of Canada or a municipal councillor, she has dedicated herself to bettering life in her community.
