One of Canada's most creative contemporary visual artists, he is also an influential art teacher, currently at the University of Waterloo. During his career as an abstract expressionist, his art has moved from flat to shaped paintings, bas reliefs, free-standing colour sculptures and his unique "boxes". He continues to experiment, delighting in the pleasure of illusion.
