A towering and respected leader of Japanese Canadians, he devoted more than 40 years of his life to rebuilding the remnants of a community which had been scattered across Canada and was the signatory to the historic agreement which finally awarded compensation to the community for evacuation losses suffered during the Second World War. He is a human rights activist and an example for all Canadians who love justice and freedom.
