A Quebec pioneer in politics, she has made a significant contribution to equal rights for women. She was the first woman member of the National Assembly of Quebec and the first woman appointed acting premier of the province. After twelve years in political life, she became the first woman judge to serve in the Quebec Provincial Court. Although she has returned to private life, she continues to contribute to the improvement and development of society.
