Successively Professor of mechanical engineering, Director of Research, Director and Chairman of the Board of the École polytechnique de Montréal, he has made this school one of the best in the engineering field. He is also very active in a large number of engineering associations and is involved in the promotion of scientific learning in Canada. He was recently appointed President of the Canadian Space Agency.
