An author herself and an ardent supporter of Canadian literature, she has worked tirelessly to bring together writers from Canada's two linguistic cultures through the Writers' Union and other organizations. Her "Librairie Double Hook Book Shop" in Montréal, an all-Canadian bookstore, was among the first of its kind in this country.
