A woman ahead of her time, she has been a pioneer in the evolution of the profession of nursing provincially, nationally and internationally as a researcher, teacher, consultant, administrator and innovator. Instrumental in the establishment of the Manitoba Nursing Research Institute, one of the first of its kind in Canada, and consultant to the World Health Organization, she is dedicated to illness prevention and the nurse's role in achieving "health for all".
