In turn a professor, vice-dean of the Faculty of Arts and head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Moncton, this prominent educator has always been a staunch defender of women's rights. Co-chairperson of the committee working to create a provincial advisory council on the status of women, she became even further involved by serving as President of the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women.
