A respected medical advisor and epidemiologist, he has been a leader in the fight against tuberculosis and other respiratory diseases. Consultant to numerous health organizations, such as the International Union Against Tuberculosis and the World Health Organization, he has contributed in a significant manner to the control and reduction of respiratory disease in the Native communities and in the industrial environments, as well as in the Third World.
