Professor Emeritus of anaesthesiology at the University of Saskatchewan, he introduced modern anaesthesia to Canada, and has led a distinguished career as a physician, researcher and educator. He also established the first two pain clinics in Saskatchewan, one at University Hospital where he has devoted much of his career to researching and treating chronic pain.
