A pioneer in the field of urban planning and public housing, this architect and former Chairman of the Advisory Group of the C.M.H.C. was one of the first to recognize that housing has an important social and cultural dimension and is fundamental to the quality of family and community life. Under his influence Canada's research and programmes in housing policy, housing design and community planning attained an international reputation for innovation.
