Veterinarian, pathologist, animal welfare advocate and humanist, he is recognized and respected throughout the world for his outstanding contributions to the promotion of the responsible and humane treatment of animals in biomedical and scientific research. Through his foresight and dynamic leadership as founder and current Executive Director of the Canadian Council on Animal Care, an effective system of animal care has been developed and implemented in Canadian universities and research laboratories.
