His genuine concern and his extraordinary linguistic abilities enabled him to assist people of diverse ethnic backgrounds during his many years as an M.L.A. in Manitoba. He was also instrumental in organizing the Polish Relief Fund during the early 1980s and continues to be active in many local charitable endeavours.
