Trained in Canada, England and the United States, he was a pioneer of psychiatry in the Maritime provinces. As head of the department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, and of Psychology at several Halifax hospitals, he is nationally recognized as a leader of his profession and a teacher of outstanding ability.
