Henrietta Goplen has been a mentor to young speed skaters throughout her lifelong involvement in the sport. As a coach at the local, provincial and national levels and as president of the Canadian Amateur Speed Skating Association, she was instrumental in the early development of some of this country's best competitors. A member of the committee that established ParticipAction Canada as a pilot project in Saskatoon, she has promoted the importance of healthy lifestyles through physical activity.
