He is a respected businessman and community leader. Honorary Chairman and Director Emeritus of James Richardson and Sons Limited, he was also the first Canadian governor of the Hudson's Bay Company. In addition, he served on the boards of directors of several companies, including DuPont Canada Inc., and Inco Ltd. He has used his organizational talents and energy to support health, educational and cultural organizations. The Health Sciences Centre Foundation, the University of Manitoba and the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature have also benefited from his support.
