He has been tireless in his efforts to improve the quality of life for visually impaired, deafblind and blind people living in Canada and around the world. Legally blind himself, James Sanders has spent his entire career with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, where he now serves as President and CEO. An energetic lobbyist, he fought to preserve the use of Braille while encouraging the organization and its clients to embrace and harness technological advances like computers. By helping to open up more avenues of accessibility, he has provided new options for individuals seeking greater independence.
