She has devoted a lifetime to humanitarian activities in her native Saskatchewan. Her particular causes have been those of the elderly - she was one of the six original members of the Regina Council on Aging - and of women, as founding president of the Regina Status of Women Society. Her efforts on behalf of Native people, and her work with the Canadian Mental Health Association, have also won the admiration of all who strive for a better society.
