While still in high school, he and a fellow student initiated Education Canada, one of the largest student exchange programs. Later, as director of educational exchanges for the Canadian Bureau for International Education, he set up national and international programs that enabled countless young people to visit other regions and cultures. He is now a consultant to the Charles R. Bronfman Youth Fellowship Fund.
