The legendary athletic prowess of Johnny Miles first showed itself when at eighteen he won a three-mile race at Sydney, Nova Scotia. At twenty, against international competition, he broke the record in the Boston Marathon and went on to the Olympic and British Empire games. Having meanwhile joined International Harvester in Hamilton, he rose to the senior management of plants in Canada, the United States and Europe. He has been elected to the Canadian and Nova Scotia Sports Halls of' Fame.
