    First Ballet Mistress of the National Ballet and now Artistic Director and Ballet Principal, she has been Director of the National Ballet School since its inception in 1959. Since her appointment as an Officer of the Order in 1972, her reputation has become truly world-wide, and graduates of her programme are in demand in dance companies around the world. (This is a promotion within the Order).
