A recognized authority in civil engineering, he has worked at mine and metallurgical plant construction in Canada, South America, and Australia and has held executive posts on the Twin Falls Powers Corporation and Brinco Limited. He is founding director of the Centre for Cold Ocean Resources Engineering, which explores safer and more economical methods of resource development.
