Clayton Shields has had a profound impact on Canadian theatre. As the master wig-maker and make-up artist of the Stratford Festival of Canada for more than 35 years, he has built the Festival's department into one of our nation's best. His creativity and development of innovative techniques have made him a legend in the field; people come from across the country and abroad to train with him. He has mentored several generations of young artists, many of whom are now internationally renowned and hold prominent positions in theatres across Canada and around the world.
