Hiroshi Nakamura has played a foundational role in the development of the sport of judo in Canada. As the national coach for 5 Olympic Games and 13 World Championships, he has guided numerous Canadians to medals in international competition. For the past 30 years he has also been the head coach and technical director of Canada’s largest judo club, where his influence has extended to the wider community through self-defence classes for women and programs for at-risk youth.
