His research has led to novel therapeutic approaches in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. A specialist in pathophysiology and distinguished professor at the University of Manitoba, he is also the founder of and principal investigator at the Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine, the first of its kind in Canada.
