Joyce Fairbairn is devoted to improving the lives of Canadians and helping individuals overcome obstacles. A former journalist, political advisor and senator, she was best known as an advocate for literacy and for the Paralympic movement, as well as for her work with Aboriginal people. Throughout her distinguished career, she showed limitless enthusiasm for her home province and was a visible presence in Alberta where she supported the people and organizations that meant so much to her.
