Drawing from his experience as a Syrian immigrant growing up in southwest Saskatchewan, Habeeb Salloum has written seven award-winning books and hundreds of articles about food, travel, history and homesteading in western Canada. By recounting his and his family’s story, he has created an understanding of the Arab experience, contributing to our national cultural ethnography and connecting Canadians to the shared past of immigrants, farmers and neighbours.
