Between December 1992 and February 1993, during emergency UN intervention in Somalia, Captain Michaud's astuteness and quick reaction to four separate calls for casualty evacuation were instrumental in saving several lives. In each case, he was conducting other tactical missions when he spotted the situations on the ground and made his aircraft available to provide assistance.
