On May 31, 2013, Ronald Minter and RCMP Constable Elmer Russell rescued a man from his burning vehicle in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The SUV had rolled off an overpass, landed on its roof and caught fire with the driver trapped inside. The two rescuers crawled in through a broken side window to reach the victim, who was
hanging upside down in his seat. They successfully released him from his seat belt, but discovered his legs were still stuck beneath the steering wheel. Racing against time, they tugged the man free and pulled him to safety.
