Marc-André Forgues, M.B.
Medal of Bravery
On May 14, 2010, Marc-André Forgues risked his life to rescue two girls from a possible drowning during a high-school trip to Costa Rica. A group of students had been enjoying a swim when the current suddenly started pulling them further out to sea. Mr. Forgues, along with several of the students, made it back to the beach. Once there, Mr. Forgues heard the two victims who had started to scream in panic. Despite his own exhaustion, Mr. Forgues swam back out to reach them, making two separate trips against the strong undertow to bring the girls to safety.
