Medal of Bravery
On February 4, 1989, Don D'Aoust, Sr., Ralph William McKenzie Gerrie and Randy Joseph Roach were involved in the rescue of a man from a burning house trailer in Rainbow Lake, Alberta. Alerted that there was a fire, Mr. D'Aoust hurried to the scene, kicked in the locked back door and crawled toward the front of the building before being turned back by the heavy smoke and heat. Racing to the front, Mr. D=Aoust was joined by Mr. Roach and, having forced open the sealed front door, both entered the living room along with Mr. Gerrie. Finding the unconscious and badly burned man on the floor, the three men succeeded in dragging him out of the burning building to safety.
