In the early hours of November 3, 1991, Messrs. Harris, Manning and Molnar rescued three people from a burning house on Westchester Beach in Harrow, Ontario. Alerted by a loud noise, Mr. Harris looked out his window to see his neighbour's garage on fire. He called the police, then raced across the street to pound and kick at the locked front door. When it opened, he grabbed his neighbour and pulled him outside. Two passers-by, Messrs. Manning and Molnar, then entered the burning house with Mr. Harris to rescue the two other occupants. Messrs. Molnar and Manning roused the victims and helped them leave the house. The rescuers escorted the victims to safety while the whole house was being engulfed in flames.
