On June 9, 1995, at a pulp mill at Gold River, British Columbia, Mr. Harvie prevented a man from being electrocuted. Mr. Harvie and a colleague were working on a 2300-volt motor in the plant electrical room, when the colleague accidentally came in contact with live current. The current passed through his body, pinning him to the voltage source. Despite the obvious danger of electrocution, Mr. Harvie immediately grabbed the man's clothing and pulled him free. He stayed with the injured man until he was transported to hospital where he was treated for third degree burns.
