Blazon

Or a fess chequy Azure and Argent between three torteaux each charged with a mullet Or;

Symbolism

The gold shield with the blue and white chequy fess is associated with Scottish armigers named Stewart. The design is made unique by the addition of the red discs and gold stars, based on the Sutherland arms of three gold stars on a red shield, thus marking Mr. Stewart’s maternal Sutherland ancestry.

Crest

Blazon

A unicorn’s head Argent armed and crined Or charged on the neck with a torteau bearing a mullet Or;

Symbolism

The unicorn’s head is the crest of the Chief of Stewart of Appin, to which has been added the gold star on red of the Sutherlands.

Motto

Blazon

O’ER THE SEA YET HOME;

Symbolism

The sentence is an indication of Mr. Stewart's family immigration to Canada from Scotland. As is the custom of Scottish mottoes, it answers the motto of the Chief, Quhidder will zie, or Whither will ye.
