Vert three keys fesswise on a chief wavy Argent an escallop of St. James between two fleurs-de-lis Gules;

Symbolism

The green background alludes to nature, while the wavy chief represents water. The keys symbolize openness to knowledge, an important value for Mr. Saumure. The shell, emblem of St. James (Jacques in French) refers to St. Jacques Street in Montreal, where he works in finance. The red fleurs-de-lis convey his Quebec and French roots while affirming his commitment to Canadian federalism.

Symbolism

The winged sea-dragon embodies Mr. Saumure’s love of nautical activities. The heart represents family. The St. Anthony’s cross pays tribute through metonymy to Anthony of Padua, patron saint invoked for the recovery of lost objects.
