Blazon

A bezant charged with a Bowen knot enwreathed Vert and Azure and within an annulus Sable edged and inscribed with the Motto in letters Or, all environed by a wreath of maple leaves Gules issuant from a dogwood flower and ensigned by the Royal Crown proper;

Symbolism

The intertwined strands of the Bowen knot allude to the Foundation’s solid working relationships formed by its members, who represent all law enforcement levels in British Columbia, and the strength of character displayed both by these members and by those officers which the Foundation commemorates. The knot further recalls the shape of the Bastion, the physical memorial itself, and the uniformed members standing guard at the pillars to safeguard the honour and memory of British Columbia’s fallen law enforcement officers. The colours are used in the uniforms worn by officers commemorated by the Foundation: blue, green, gold and red, representing all past and present law enforcement officers throughout the province. The badge frame of red maple leaves, the Royal Crown and the provincial flower is used to denote an organization devoted to memorializing fallen law enforcement officers.
