Blazon

The shield of Arms of The Corporation of the City of Stratford (Azure on a chevron Or between three swans naiant Argent a hurt charged with a beehive Or between two spears Gules their points upwards) within an annulus Azure fimbriated and inscribed SERVING OUR COMMUNITY in letters Or, ensigned with the Royal Crown proper and encircled by a wreath of maple leaves Or issuant from a trillium flower proper, all above a scroll Azure fimbriated and inscribed STRATFORD POLICE SERVICE in letters Or;

Symbolism

The arms of the City of Stratford feature symbols honouring Stratford’s heritage, with the beehive symbol of industry, the spears from the arms of William Shakespeare, and the swans that can be seen on the Avon River. The Royal Crown symbolizes the fact that the department assists in the administration of the Crown’s justice, while the maple leaves and trillium flower are references to Canada and to Ontario.
