Blazon

A torteau charged with a reticle Or, ensigned by the Royal Crown proper and surmounting two wings inverted, in base a scroll Or inscribed JTAC • CIFA in letters Sable;

Symbolism

The reticle symbolizes the ability to direct explosive ordnance accurately from aircraft. In addition to representing the Royal Canadian Air Force, the wings allude to a falcon, the bird with the fastest flight speed. Their shape in flight evokes a broad arrowhead, a reference to weaponry. The Royal Crown represents service to the Sovereign and Canada. The gold of the wings and scroll represent an instructor.
