The Arms of Joseph Albert Guy Rosaire Lavigne (Chevronny Ermine and Azure per pale counterchanged, a chief Or) debruised of a five-point label Gules;

Symbolism

Ermine represents Brittany, the region in France from which Mr. Allen-Petrie’s maternal ancestors came. The chevronny pattern refers to the fact that his grandfather was a builder and that his first maternal ancestor who immigrated to New France was a mason. Blue refers to New France and the French language.

The stag recalls the fawn that Mr. Allen-Petrie’s grandfather, as a child, rescued and raised on the family farm.
