The wavy bars recall the waters of Lake Superior near Captain. Groulx’s home, while the three maple leaves represent his receipt of the Chief of Defence Staff’s Commendation. Red and white are Canada’s national colours, symbolizing Captain Groulx’s service to Canada in several domains. |
CrestBlazonA castle Gules masoned Argent, its portcullis raised Azure; SymbolismThe mantling features the three principal colours of the awards and decorations Captain Groulx has received. The towered gateway is drawn from the arms of the former City of Port Arthur and represents his home community of Thunder Bay. The portcullis is raised representing Captain. Groulx’s efforts in his professional life as well as through his military and community service to open doorways to the aspirations of others. |
