The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The gyrfalcon is a traditional emblem for Iceland, the country of origin of Mrs. Eaton’s parents, while the maple leaves refer to her Canadian nationality.
