Franco-Yukonnais FlagBlazonAzure a bendlet sinister Or between to the dexter a bend sinister couped in chief and to the sinister a bend sinister couped in base Argent; SymbolismThe blue represents the Francophonie and the brightness of the Yukon sky, while the white conveys the snow and winter north of the 60th parallel. The placement of the white bands symbolizes the mountains of the territory. The yellow vein recalls the gold rush and the path of Francophones who have enriched Yukon society since the late 19th century. This symbolism is based on a variety of publicly-available sources. |
