The red, white, and blue relate to the colours of the Royal Union Flag, thus symbolizing Major Fisher’s maternal Loyalist ancestors and roots in Great Britain. The wavy band, representing one wave length of a mathematical sine curve, alludes to his mother’s birth name of Lorena Artilla Sine. The pike, or lucy, honours Major Fisher’s great-grandmother Lucy Ann Lay. The six-pointed stars represent the six major wars since 1759 in which both his maternal and paternal ancestors fought.
