Arms of Jeffrey de FourestierBlazonPer pale dexter Argent a wild man holding in the dexter hand a staff proper, sinister Or four trees on a grassy mound issuant from base Vert, a chief Gules, all within a bordure per pale Gules and Argent; SymbolismThe design is basically that of the Prussian Fo(u)restier arms, to which has been added a border of red and white, the colours of Canada. This marks Mr. Fourestier’s history of public service to Canada, for which he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. The forest and the “forester” make punning references to the Fourestier name. |
