Badge of the 3rd Canadian Division Support GroupBlazonBleu Céleste a wooden fort, in chief a ram’s head caboshed Or, within the Support Group Badge Frame (An annulus Or inscribed SUPPORT GROUP • GROUPE DE SOUTIEN in letters Sable, charged in base with a torteau bordered and set with the group’s number Or, ensigned by the Royal Crown proper, environed by nine points surmounting a wreath of maple leaves Or, and above a scroll proper inscribed with the Motto in letters Sable); SymbolismLight blue is the colour of the 3rd Canadian Division. The fort represents Fort Edmonton, the Hudson’s Bay Company trading post located on the site of what is now the city of Edmonton. The ram’s head represents the army in Western Canada. The fort, ram’s head and motto are taken from the badge of the 1 Area Support Group, the predecessor unit. |
