Blazon

Azure a rose of six petals Argent seeded Gules, a base embattled Or;

Symbolism

The rose honours Ms. Champagne’s mother, Laurette Turmel, whose favourite flower it was. The six petals represent Ms. Champagne and her siblings. The gold base, known as a “champagne” in heraldry, is a pun on the family name. It is crenellated like the walls of an ancient castle to recall that the ancestor of the Canadian Lamberts dit Champagne settled at Château-Richer (château meaning “castle” in French), north of Quebec City.

Crest

Blazon

A demi-sun in splendour Or charged with a dolmen proper bearing ermine spots Argent;

Symbolism

The dolmen recalls the ancestral homeland of the Turmels, Brittany, in France, which is famous for its numerous and ancient megalithic structures. For Ms. Champagne, the sun represents faith and the radiance of knowledge.

Motto

Blazon

AVANCE AVEC FOI;

Symbolism

This expression meaning “Advance with faith” evokes the spirit of entrepreneurship of Ms. Champagne and her family.
