Blazon

The central device of the Armorial Bearings of The Royal Canadian Geographical Society (a compass rose Argent surmounting a hurt edged Or and charged with a maple leaf Gules) environed by three walruses naiant Or armed Argent;

Symbolism

The walruses refer to the Walrus Foundation, and the compass rose is taken from the arms of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. This badge was created for use in joint projects between the Foundation and the Society, most notably a special issue of the magazine The Walrus titled “The Story of Canada in 150 Objects”.
