Blazon

Per fess enarched Argent and Azure, in chief a dexter hand in benediction between two pheons Gules, in base a white-tailed deer lodged Argent;

Symbolism

The stag, the pheons and the colours are found in other Scottish Davidson arms. The white-tailed deer, native to the farmland of southern Ontario, indicates where Father Davidson’s family has lived for generations. The hand in benediction is a reference to his vocation as a priest.

SAPIENTIA CUM SINCERITATE;

Symbolism

This Latin phrase, meaning “Wisdom with sincerity”, is a response to the Davidson Clan Chief’s motto, Sapienter si sincere, meaning “Wisely if sincerely”.
