Blue was the favourite colour of Normand Biron, Laurent’s father. The ermine spot (hermine in French) recalls their ancestor, Pierre Biron, who came from Saint-Hermine, Poitou, France, and settled in Quebec City in 1648. |

It represents both strength and protection, and symbolizes the late Normand Biron’s service as an officer with the Royal Canadian Navy as well as his charitable work. The gold disc symbolizes a coin and refers to his profession as a chartered accountant. The maple leaves and fleurs-de-lis are symbols of Canada and Quebec. |
