The shield of Arms of the City of Edmonton (Purpure a fess wavy Argent charged with a bar wavy Azure between in chief a winged cogwheel and in base a garb Or, on a chief Azure fimbriated Argent a demi sun issuant in splendour Or) within an annulus Azure fimbriated and inscribed INTEGRITY COURAGE COMMUNITY, all within a wreath of maple leaves Or issuant from a wild rose proper, the whole resting on a scroll Azure fimbriated and inscribed in letters Or EDMONTON POLICE SERVICE, and upon the annulus the Royal Crown proper;

Symbolism

The arms of the City of Edmonton contain references to industry, agriculture, the West, and the North Saskatchewan River. The Royal Crown symbolizes the fact that the Police Service assists in the administration of the Crown’s justice, while the maple leaves and wild rose refer to Canada and to Alberta.
